Gardening is one of our most enjoyed hobbies. Whether it is growing food to eat or beautiful plant arrangements to enjoy, gardening is a way to embrace outdoor living. Gardeners are however looking for more sustainable ways to enjoy their garden. Searching for more natural, organic and environmentally sustainable products to help grow and maintain their gardens.
Andermatt have been manufacturing products to support gardeners grow plants in their garden for more than 35 years. Firstly in Switzerland, and now across Europe. Our belief is a Healthy Food and Healthy Environment for All, and the hobby gardening industry is an important part of how humans can be more environmentally responsible. Gardeners can still feed plants with fertilisers, maintain plants with fleece and ties whilst also protecting them from the pests which are trying to eat them, but these can all be done with more sustainable products.
Some of the products in Andermatt’s Home & Garden range are simply more sustainable versions of products gardeners are already familiar with. For example frost fleece (BioFleece) and insect netting (InsectoNet) made from plant derived plastic alternatives. Others such as the MightyBug range of natural predators are technologies taken from our Crop business then packaged in a more gardener friendly form, allowing gardeners to use native species such as two spotted ladybird, whitefly parasites and spider mite predators in the same way British commercial flower and tomato growers do. In addition, as one of the world's largest biological manufacturers Andermatt are also able to develop unique products such as the Rootilizer beneficial bacteria which support healthy root establishment and development.
