How to Use
How to Use
Suitable for use in any crop where swede midge (Contarinia nasturtii) is a potential pest.
The swede midge monitoring trap should be setup from late May onwards to cover the potential midge flying period. Once setup, the trap should be checked every 2-3 days (i.e. Monday, Wednesday and Friday) and the number of caught adults recorded.
Trap placement: Place just above the height of the crop. The trap should be in place from before the first generation of adults fly in late May until either October or harvest whichever comes first.
Trap location: Place within the crop area.
Trap density: Minimum of 2 traps per field. Pest population will vary with microclimate. In areas of more diverse microclimates, higher trap density may be advised.
The trap should be hung from a pole within the crop just above the height of the crop.
Replace pheromone lure and sticky insert after 6 weeks.
Do not open foil sachet until you want to use the pheromone lure. Until use, store unopened sticky inserts and pheromone lures in a cool dry location.
