How to Use
How to Use
Suitable for use in any crop where Pea moth (Laspeyresia nigricana) is a potential pest.
The pea moth monitoring trap should be setup from the middle of May until August to cover the moth flying period. Once setup, the trap should be checked every 2-3 days (i.e. Monday, Wednesday and Friday) and the number of caught adults recorded.
Trap placement: Place within the crop area at two-thirds of the crop height. The height of the trap should be adjusted regularly as the crop grows
Trap location: Place on the windward side of the field, within the crop 5 meters from the edge of the field
Trap density: 1 trap per 20 hectares of a uniform field. In ununiform areas (geography, variety, sowing date etc.) higher density may be advised
Traps should be checked at least once or twice a week and number of trapped moths recorded. After recording trapped numbers during scouting, trapped moths should be removed from sticky insert to improve future catches and reduce chance of miscounting in following assessments.
Replace the lure and sticky insert after 6 weeks.
Do not open foil sachet until you want to use the pheromone lure. Until use, store unopened sticky inserts and pheromone lures in a cool dry location.
Traps can be used over several years with the addition of fresh replacement pheromones (sold separately.)
