How to Use
How to Use
Suitable for use in any crop where currant clearwing (Synanthedon tipuliformis) is a potential pest.
The trap is designed to monitor adult moth activity which then allows improved application timing of plant protection products. The currant clearwing monitoring trap should be setup through June and July to cover the moth flying period. Once setup, the trap should be checked at least once or twice a week and the number of caught adults recorded.
The trap should be hung within the crop at head height to allow easy access or just above the crop, depending on the size of the crop.
One trap should be used per hectare of a uniform crop area. In ununiform crop areas (geography, variety, age etc.) higher densities may be advised.
Traps should be checked at least once or twice a week and number of trapped moths recorded. After recording trapped numbers during scouting, trapped moths should be removed from sticky insert to improve future catches and reduce chance of miscounting in following assessments.
Replace the lure and sticky insert after 6 weeks.
Do not open foil sachet until you want to use the pheromone lure. Until use, store unopened sticky inserts and pheromone lures in a cool dry location.
Traps can be used over several years with the addition of fresh replacement pheromones'
