Advantages
RhizoVital® C5 is a biological fertiliser used to encourage root growth and help mobilise nutrients in the soil, making them more readily available to plants.
RhizoVital® C5 supports plant growth and increases yield in a wide range of crops.
RhizoVital® C5 improves tolerance towards abiotic stress caused by unfavourable climatic conditions.
The bacteria in RhizoVital® C5 are active at temperatures as low as 8°C, meaning that RhizoVital® C5 can be used support early season crops.
RhizoVital® C5 is a sustainable fertiliser that has approval for use in organic systems.
Technical Documents

RhizoVital ® C5 is a biological fertiliser that can be used on a wide range of crops.
The water-based liquid formulation contains spores of the naturally
occurring soil bacterium Bacillus atrophaeus (strain ABi05). RhizoVital®
C5 is a growth promoting rhizobacteria that increases root growth and nutrient
availability to plants, helping plants to build stronger and healthier root
systems. This improves plant tolerance towards abiotic stresses and can lead to
increases in yield.
-
Key Benefits
- Increases nutrient availability to plants by converting nutrients into more readily available forms
- Improves root establishment and plant growth, helping plants to withstand abiotic and biotic stresses, leading to increases in yield
- Works from 8°C, allowing use to support early and late season growth
- No harmful effects on beneficial insects or predatory mites
- Non-toxic to humans, livestock and wildlife
- No maximum residue levels are defined (no PHIs/ no MRLs)
- Liquid formulation containing 2.5 x 10^10 cfu/ml Bacillus atrophaeus (strain ABi05)
- Approved for organic crops

Bacillus atrophaeus
The Bacillus atrophaeus spores germinate when they come into contact with growing plant roots. As the bacteria in RhizoVital® C5 grow in the soil, they produce an array of enzymes which modify plant compounds and nutrients in the soil, converting them into more useable forms. For example, the bacteria produce phytase – an enzyme that transforms organic phosphorous into inorganic phosphorous, which increases the availability of phosphorous to the plant. Phosphorus is a major nutrient that is essential to plants. It plays a vital role in energy transfer (ATP), cell wall formation, fruit
production and root growth.
